Phi Sigma Sigma Community Archons

Holly Alperin, Region 1
Delta Iota ‘99
Central Michigan University

Holly was initiated in 1997. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in public health education/health promotion.

Holly has served Phi Sigma Sigma since 2002 as new programs and materials chairman, regional programming coordinator, Chapter Excellence portfolio reviewer, alumnae chapter archon and ACHIEVE facilitator. She has also served on the strategic planning and resource library committees. Holly has been recognized by Phi Sigma Sigma with the Grand Council Dangle and Certificate of Appreciation.

Holly is a health education specialist with the Massachusetts Department of Education. She works with health education and physical education teachers to improve programming/curricula for schools across Massachusetts. She resides in Merrimac, Mass. with her husband, Todd, and their cat, Roxy.

Holly’s vision for Phi Sigma Sigma is for “alumnae and collegiate sisters to live the core values of the Fraternity through action and words. I want to see sisters strive to be strong in character, serve as role models for others, and be dedicated to the betterment of our Fraternity. I believe in the power of sisterhood and our ability to foster positive change in those around us.”

Gayle Riquier, Region 2
Delta Omega ‘98
Pace University

Gayle was initiated in 1994, and graduated from Pace University with her bachelor’s in biology in 1998. She earned a Master of Education in higher education administration and student affairs from the University of South Carolina in 2003.

Gayle began serving Phi Sigma Sigma as an alumna in 1998, when she served as a field consultant. Since that time, she has served as a chapter key advisor, alumnae association liaison and ACHIEVE facilitator. Gayle has been recognized by the Fraternity with the Archon of the Year award.

Professionally, Gayle has worked in student affairs for seven years. She currently works as the coordinator for student activities at the University of Connecticut at Stamford. She resides in Stamford, Conn.

When asked about her goals for her community, Gayle said, “Phi Sigma Sigma is about developing strong women, a commitment to service, learning, and leading. I hope to maximize the region’s potential by utilizing the resources and knowledge of Fraternity personnel and HQ staff to better serve the collegiate and alumnae chapters. Through my support and leadership, I hope to enhance the experience of the Phi Sigma Sigma sisters in Region 2.”

Tracy Johnson, Region 3
Theta Eta ‘95
Rider University

Tracy was initiated in 1994. She gradated from Rider University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She then continued her education at the University of Phoenix online and graduated in 2004 with an MBA e-Business degree.

Tracy has served Phi Sigma Sigma in various roles since 1995 including chapter key advisor, division undergraduate president, regional collegiate director and regional director. She has also served on the resource library committee. Tracy’s service to Phi Sigma Sigma has been recognized with the Grand Council Dangle.

Tracy is a currently the Operations Manager and Business Strategist for Cementex Products, Inc. She currently resides in Burlington Township, N.J. with her husband, Jared and son, Noah Edmund.

Tracy’s goal is to “maintain an open door policy with all of the collegiate and alumnae women in the community – always remaining available, focused, and enthusiastic.”

Kathi Burroughs, Region 4
Gamma Pi ‘98
University of Maryland, Baltimore County

Kathi was initiated into the Gamma Pi Chapter in 1995. She graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 1998 with her bachelor’s degree in emergency health services – para medicine. She remained at UMBC and earned her master’s degree in emergency health services – education. Kathi then earned her physician assistant certificate at Anne Arundel Community College, where she graduated second in her class. For her academic excellence, Kathi was awarded the Past Grand Archon’s Scholarship and is a two-time recipient of the Individual Scholarship Award.

Kathi has served Phi Sigma Sigma in various roles since 1998, including chapter key advisor, division collegiate president and regional collegiate director. Kathi’s dedication and service to Phi Sigma Sigma has been recognized with the Certificate of Appreciation, Grand Council Dangle and Sisterhood Award.

Kathi is a physician assistant in the emergency department at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Md. She resides in Pasadena, Md. with her husband, Chris, and daughter, Jordan.

Kathi’s goal is “to build the spirit and pride of chapters throughout the community. I plan to serve as a strong advocate for our collegiate and alumnae members.”

Katie Vlietstra, Region 5
Epsilon Delta ‘03
Chapman University

Katie was initiated into the Epsilon Delta Chapter in 1999. She graduated from Chapman University in 2003 with a B.A. in History and Political Science. She continued her education at George Mason University and graduated in 2005 with an M.A. in 20th Century American History. In conjunction with her internship with Representative Mario Diaz-Balart, she was selected to participate in the John C. Stennis Congressional Fellowship program. Katie’s academic excellence has been recognized with the Past Grand Archon Scholarship, Jeanine Jacobs Goldberg Scholarship and Chapter Consultant Scholarship.

Katie has served Phi Sigma Sigma in various roles since 2003, including field consultant, regional collegiate director, extension team member, advisory board member and programming facilitator. Katie’s dedication and service to the Fraternity has been recognized with the Certificate of Appreciation and Sisterhood Award.

Katie is currently the Public Affairs Assistant at Triadvocates and is the Treasurer of the State Society of Arizona. She currently resides in Washington, D.C.

Katie’s goal is “to work in partnership with chapter leaders and Fraternity volunteers to increase chapter success. Little can be done unless you surround yourself with strong, dedicated people who are committed to a common goal. I am excited to nurture the health and wellness of collegiate and alumnae chapters in the community.”  

Vanessa Freeman, Region 6
Theta Rho ‘95
University of Virginia College at Wise

Vanessa was initiated in 1996. She graduated from the University of Virginia College at Wise in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in history. She continued her education at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English.

Vanessa has served Phi Sigma Sigma in various roles since 1996, including chapter finance chairman, regional finance coordinator and chapter key advisor. She has also served on the Web and technology, resource library and chapter services committees.

Vanessa’s dedication and service to Phi Sigma Sigma has been recognized with the Grand Council Dangle. She is also a two-time recipient of the Certificate of Appreciation.

Vanessa currently serves as the grant writer at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. She resides in Wise, Va.

Vanessa is “very passionate about Phi Sigma Sigma and is committed to putting all of her efforts to the new community. I will help my chapters gain experience and knowledge in all areas of the Fraternity. I want members to achieve their greatest potential, and I am ready to give 100% in leading the community!” says Vanessa.

Robyn Paige, Region 7
Theta Psi, ‘04
Alma College

Robyn was initiated into the Theta Psi Chapter in 2001. She graduated from Alma College with a bachelor’s degree in education. Robyn earned her master’s in college student affairs from Eastern Illinois University.

Robyn has served Phi Sigma Sigma in various roles since 2004, including advisory board member, risk management committee member and ACHIEVE facilitator.

Robyn is currently the interim judicial advisor at Eastern Illinois Univeristy. She resides in Charleston, Ill.

Robyn’s goal in leading her community is “to draw upon my experience in student affairs to help collegiate and alumnae chapters live Phi Sigma Sigma’s core values.”

Jennifer Lenhart-Rogish, Region 8
Theta Nu ‘98
University of Findlay

Jennifer was initiated in 1997. She received her bachelor’s degree in environmental and hazardous materials management in 1998, and is currently finishing a master's degree in environmental, health and safety management from the University of Findlay.

Jennifer has served Phi Sigma Sigma since 2003, in various roles including chapter key advisor, extension committee member and regional collegiate director. In addition to leading the region 8 community, Jennifer also serves as co-chair of the Organizational Structure Task Force.

For her service to Phi Sigma Sigma, Jennifer has been honored with the Outstanding Alumna Advisor Award and the Sisterhood Award.

Jennifer is the health and safety manager for the Whirlpool Corporation facility in Clyde, Ohio. She is also a certified hazardous materials manager (CHMM). Jennifer currently resides in Clyde, Ohio, with her husband, Matt, their son, Chase, yellow lab, Darby, and cat, Zuzu.

Jennifer “is excited to be involved in the implementation of the community structure. I am eager to build the volunteer structure in my region. I hope that all collegiate and alumnae members continue to feel a strong bond to the sisterhood of Phi Sigma Sigma.”

Joanne Barrick, Region 9
Epsilon Epsilon ‘96
California State University - Bakersfield

Joanne was initiated in 1992. She received a bachelor's degree in public administration from California State University - Bakersfield. She earned a social studies credential from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She earned a master's degree in educational counseling, and is currently working on her master's in educational administration CSU - Bakersfield.

Joanne has served Phi Sigma Sigma since 2000 as division collegiate president, regional collegiate director, regional director and programming facilitator.

For her contributions to Phi Sigma Sigma, Joanne has been honored with the Grand Council Dangle and Certificate of Appreciation. She is also a two-time recipient of the Sisterhood Award.

Joanne is as a guidance counselor at Highland High School in Bakersfield, Calif. She resides in Bakersfield, Calif. with her two cats, Ally and Binx.

Joanne’s goal is for “all Phi Sigma Sigma sisters to be able to have the greatest experience. I hope to help members find their place in their collegiate chapters and then in an alumnae chapter so that Phi Sigma Sigma will continue to AIM HIGH!”
