Phi Sigma Sigma to Relocate Headquarters
Elkridge, Maryland (March 3, 2004)Effective summer 2004, Phi Sigma Sigma Fraternity will be establishing a new headquarters located in Howard County, Md., a suburb
of Baltimore. This new headquarters will be home to Phi Sigma Sigma's
staff, records and historic memorabilia. The current office in Boca
Raton, Fla. will remain open through summer 2004.
The decision to move to Howard County, Md. is the culmination
of a year-long headquarters study. Eight cities were initially identified
as potential sites. A headquarters site selection committee
researched many factors including cost and availability of commercial
property, proximity of local services, quality of life for local residents
and travel and accommodation costs for visiting officers and members.
The committee completed this research, toured properties in five
cities, and collected feedback from collegiate and alumnae members
via a survey at Leadership Training School. After analyzing the
data, the committee submitted its findings to Supreme Council in
fall 2003. Supreme Council selected Howard County based on the availability
of affordable, desirable property within close proximity to the
airport and train station, hotels, shops and restaurants.
Specifics regarding the location and details of Phi Sigma Sigma's
new Headquarters will be released once negotiations are complete.
A search for a new executive director based in Howard County/Baltimore
will begin shortly.
