New Community Archons Announed

Elkridge, Maryland (August 16, 2007) – Supreme Council is pleased to announce the appointment of two new community archons and the reappointment of seven veteran community archons.

Kerry Wallaert, Theta Alpha Chapter (Northern Michigan University), will oversee community 7 (Michigan and Ohio). Kerry is a former chapter key advisor for the Iota Epsilon Chapter (Indiana University, Kokomo). She served as an ACHIEVE facilitator for two years and as an international standards board representative. This summer, Kerry was honored with the Sisterhood Award.

Barb Gentry, Epsilon Alpha Chapter (Illinois State University), will oversee community 8 (Midwest). Barb is currently serving as Epsilon Alpha (Illinois State) local housing corporation president, Epsilon Alpha chapter key advisor, core values audit/business process review task force member and international standards board representative. Barb was also honored with the Sisterhood Award this summer.

In addition to approving the two new community archons, Supreme Council re-appointed all community archons who indicated interest in continuing to serve their communities:

  • Holly Alperin, Community 1
  • Nicole Hollar, Community 2
  • Tracy Johnson, Community 3
  • Julie Orchard, Community 4
  • Katie Vlietstra, Community 5
  • Vanessa Freeman, Community 6
  • Joanne Barrick, Community 9
Each community is under the supervision and guidance of a community archon. The community archon, partnering with our Headquarters staff, is responsible for developing and implementing a support system to provide for the health and well- being of her assigned community, including collegiate and alumnae chapters. Community archons oversee all activities within their communities and report directly to Supreme Council through the executive director.
