Iota Eta, Florida Institute of Technology
Phi Sigma Sigma’s Iota Eta chapter at Florida Institute of Technology was recently awarded President Bush's Volunteer Service Award through the USA Freedom Corps! The chapter earned a Bronze Level Award for 294 service hours.
A few examples of Iota Eta’s outstanding efforts include volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, participating in the university president’s Campus Cleanup and creating seashell picture frames with inspirational messages for a children's hospital. The chapter decorated cups for diabetic children complete with sugar free candies, sponsored a rock-a-thon, held several car washes in the Florida sun and participated in the Residence Hall Association’s Halloween bash for local elementary school children. The ladies of Iota Eta helped staff a thank-a-thon where students called Florida Tech alumni to thank them for donating to the university. In addition, the chapter has raised over $4,000 for various charities.
It is evident that the Iota Eta chapter truly lives up to Phi Sigma Sigma's core value of leadership through service through their participation in such a wide variety of philanthropic and service activities. Congratulations!
